Who the hell is Taz?

You may be asking yourself this and other questions such as; Who are you? Why should I consider your opinions?

Well, to put it simply:

I am a technology and security professional and have been so for over 20 years now (that hurts to type that out). During my career I have held many positions and also served as a U.S. Marine in my earlier years. A lot of technology and standards regarding wireless as well as security in general I helped to establish throughout my career. Primarily I’ve worked in the entertainment industry but have also freelanced a bit and done work for the government sector as well. Let’s just say that government and government contractors aren’t my favorite industry to work in but those positions and that time helped to broaden my experience in tech and infosec.

Primarily my skills reside on the infrastructure side of technology (the back end stuff) but I have dabbled a bit in development/front end. Calling myself a developer would be a stretch but I know my way around code, it’s just not my favorite thing to do.

Aside from the day-to-day professional career stuff, I am also an artist, maker, woodworker, metalworker, voice-over actor, producer/director. As such a lot of my opinions and articles are influenced by my creativity and the areas of which I find enjoyment such as music, movies, cartoons, comics, etc.
